FAQs

  • How should I wash my products?

Every piece that goes out has been washed twice by hand with Synthrapol, which is a dye suspension detergent. Even so, there may be a chance some dye particles remain (especially with darker colors). Due to this we recommend washing all products alone the first time they need to be laundered. After this first wash, they can then be incorporated into your normal laundry routine.

Please wash all pair of socks with cold water on the delicate setting - any detergent without bleach is fine. Let air dry or dry on low heat.

  • What dye colors does Rokita and Boruta currently have in stock? Can you mix a custom shade?

Please see our Color Guide page for information about the dyes we have on hand. We can always mix up something special for you! Feel free to contact us about what you are envisioning.

  • How long does it take for ready to ship orders to ship?

Ready to ship orders will go out within 1 to 2 business days from when they are purchased. At this time, we do not ship on weekends.

  • What service do you ship packages with?

We use USPS and UPS - please see the individual listing description to see what shipping option(s) are available. If you would prefer to use a separate carrier, please contact us.

  • Does Rokita and Boruta ship internationally?

By request only - please contact us via the contact form on the website to get your international shipping set up. :)

  • Do you offer local pickup for those who are NYC based?

Yes, in Manhattan (uptown). Contact us and we can make you a special listing with no shipping costs, as well as arrange a public meetup.

  • Do you accept commissions?

Yes - we are currently open for silk fan commissions. Everything else we offer is not available to be commissioned currently.

  • What makes clothing fire safe?

There are many ways to have your costuming for fire performance be safer, but as always, spin with a fire safety present! Please note that 'fire safe' itself is a misnomer - all fire safe fabrics will burn to ash instead of melting. Natural fibers are a good rule of thumb to follow (think wool, cotton, and leather). Any blend above 80% - 85% cotton typically passes our burn tests.

We highly recommend looking at the Flow Arts Institute website under the 'Safety Training' section for more information.

If there is enough demand, yes!

  • What is the fiber content of the bandanas?

    100% cotton.

  • What is the fiber content of your tunics?

    100% cotton w/ 100% cotton thread.

  • How can we collaborate?
